Tanabe Sustec GF question
I just bought a set of Tanabe Sustec GF springs and was wondering if any of you recommend that I should also get after market shocks, or is it okay to ride wif the stock shocks?
koni sports, commonly referred to as koni yellows, or tokico illuminas. both are very good quality, lifetime warranty and are capable performance shocks
Oh yea well I'm well aware of those two shocks, but my question was referring if I can run on stock shocks or do I need after market shocks wif Tanabe Sustec GF.
i marginally misread your question the first time around, my bad
its definitely a good idea, increased spring rate and decreased travel can eat through inferior shocks pretty quick

Hmm...I see. I've heard that it's okay to ride some springs on stock shocks and I was hopin that this was one of them. Alright thanks for your help bro.

not knowing the drop or the spring rates its difficult to say. the only springs I would run with stock shocks would be teins... fairly mild drop and only a small increase in rate, 10-20% or thereabouts
Hmm....I believe the drops are 1.8 front and rear, and the spring rates increase by 30%. I'm not too sure on the sprint rate increase.
Accord to this link.... http://www.tanabe-usa.com/springs/gf210.asp it's okay to ride wif factory shocks, but I think I might as well go for after market too to get a better performance.

if it's is a daily driver, i would recommend you get aftermarket adjustable shocks, the ride will feel more like stock, with slightly improved cornering, instead of too bumpy.
my experience:
i have these springs on my car right now, running with koni yellow shocks. with the shocks i can make the ride a bit stiffer if necessary, or leave at soft for a smooth daily commute.
the springs are great for street use because the height allows you to take the odd pothole without hitting your shock towers. only 25% stiffer so similar to a integra type r stock spring, but not as harsh as neuspeed race.
i've had similar springs, but a bit stiffer with stock shocks, the shocks lasted about a year, but really annoyingly bumpy everytime you go over a slight bump in the road.
hope this helps you out!
