Default HID on 97 civic ex

does anybody know if i install a hid kit on a 97 civic ex that has a pair of eye lips,
would it help that the light beam won't be too high, since the eyelips cover the top part of the head light.

No, they will not help reduce glare.

Yes, projectors would control the light better.

You just adjust them so that they're aimed properly. Glare isn't really an aiming issue, it's a factor of how well the housing is able to control and distribute the light.

is it because projector headlights have the lenses so that it could aim the light better?

That's a bit of a simplified explanation, but in general terms, projectors do offer better light control. However, a properly designed HID reflector setup will perform better than a poorly designed halogen projector setup with some HID capsules installed in it.

What specifically are you hoping to achieve?

You'll get better results with some aftermarket projector headlamps than you would using the stock ones, but you'll get even better results if you have HID projectors installed.

if you do projectors, you gotta do retrofitted stock ones off another car. not the aftermarket overseas projector headlights that make u run lil H3 or H1 bulbs. if you want to run your stock headlights with HID's, I've heard "casper shields" work pretty well to help reduce glare.

what is "casper shields"?
Actually I am selling my car in 6 month after I graduate from college,
I'll get another car when I go to my grad. school, and it would probably another civic.

So, I want to try the HID on a civic to see how I can get the best result.

Can you give me more information of the "casper shields"?

is the HID projectors something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...photo

No, HID projectors are more like this:

They are projectors that come standard on HID equipped cars. You'd have to retrofit them into your current headlights.

The ones you have are just cheapie aftermarket ones that have questionable performance for the most part.

wow... just wow... projector headlights with an HID kit included for only $250 shipped. Horrible quality is all I have to say.

However, aftermarket projector headlights make a good starting point for retrofitting in some OEM HID projectors. It would be easier than trying to rig up HID projectors into your stock headlights.
