Default installing GSR CD and Tape units?

i am soon putting in a 98 GSR AM/FM/CD deck with a dedicated tape deck below it. (2 single din units.) does the wiring harness from the car plug into the back of the CD unit, and the tape unit draws power from the CD head? any help is appreciated. i haven't measured the specs yet, but does the GSR cd player fit into the CRX's radio opening? as for the tape, i was going to cut out the lower radio pocket and work some flushmounting magic. thanks all.

yes, it fits, i got one before. And, the plugs should be the same and the tape player gets the power from the cd deck.

I am not 100% sure, but I think that Honda changed the wiring in 98. So it may not be plug and play.

thanks. as for the wiring, i believe it changed in 2001, because all of the reverse harnesses i have used to put radio's into honda's have been the same from 88-00. metra wire, schoshe, all of them are 88-00. those of you that have done this, what did you do to mount the radio and tape deck? does the radio bolt on to the back of the dash support, in the same holes as the stock radio? how about a bracket for the tape deck? thanks. steve

I put a 95 tape deck in my 88 CRX. The rear of the deck was identical it bolted in just like my old one. There is one bolt on the back. As far as the CD player you are on your own there.

i just put in a factory am/fm cd deck off a 99 integra in my 90 civic hatch. everything fits right and works. only problem i had was the dimmer wire. i have no illumination on my buttons. (but the lcd works)

by the way. i had to enter the anti theft security password to get the damn deck to work. do you have to do that?
