i took the gears out of a 90 trans and put them into a 89 trans , only the gears. i used the shift forks and all from the 90 trans ( they fit onto the 89 gears) . but when i put the case on it dont wanna go into any gears besides 1 and 2. when the case is off it seems to go into gears ok. what could be causing this? it dont seem to be hitting or anything and the shift rod looks ok and so does the bolts in the rod. i dont get it and now the car is stuck till i fix this.

 

fixed. had to take the synchros and gears off the other one and put them on the newer spline shaft. works now .
