Default FN2 Civic Type R

Although most of the East gets the JDM four door Civic Type R, Singapore and Malaysia have the option of the UK Swindon three door Civic Type R.

http://asia.vtec.net/Reviews/eCTR/index.html

Ugly in a way that only the British Honda design team could manage.

But of course we all still want one.

If we built it in the USA, the torsion beam rear suspension would totally kill it.

But I'll bet you anything that all of us want one, just because we can't get it.

i dig the shape and profile of the car, but for the front and rear facia design, they absolutely kill the car. Interior is also pretty sick.

We don't want it. Only the interior and the rims (and motor).

Speak for yourself.

I'd have picked that up over my coupe in a heartbeat and EVEN over the sedan type R

My ep3 was my most fun to drive car i've ever owned and this just looks leaps and bounds ahead of it in all aspects.

For $32,000, I'd take the FD2.

Exactly. It's the same problem that affected the EP3 in the USDM. Swindon designs are expensive when you try to sell them in US dollars.

jermey clarkson calls the FN2 "absolutely hopeless"

i've heard nothing but bad things about the hatchback type-r and nothing but good things about the sedan type-r.

Me no likey!!

It just looks too "beefy" and heavy for a Type R. What's the curb weight on that thing anyway?

lot of mixed reviews on the fn2 here in u.k, seems down to personal preference, some hate the styling, some love it

i have to say i didnt like it in pics but in the flesh looks ace apart from the back end which i hate and no matter how many times i see one wont grow on me

optional 19" rage wheels available from honda which look much better and are actually lighter the 18"

you even have to pay extra for type r decals

front and rear lower lower bumper kits optional which make back look much better and front more aggressive

as for fd2, amazing, not available officially in u.k but imports have started to come in

Surprisingly it out performs the previous Euro CTR.

yea not so hot ! its heavy, the suspension sucks resulting terrible under-steer. I do like the inside a bit and the outside is not so bad. I like my 4dr si better.

On a smooth track, the new CTR's horsepower advantage and shorter gears is going to give it an advantage.

On a bumpy track or one that's configured differently, I am not sure which one would have lapped faster.

But...let's face it, if the track's really bumpy we're all going to want to be in a DC2, anyway!
