Default 4th gen oil pan gasket

hey my oil pan gasket is leakin a little. i was wonderin if i can use hondabond or some kind of sealant instead of a new gasket? i wasnt sure because i heard that 4th gen pans are steel and 5th gen are aluminum

I would reccomend replacing it. FYI, I just did mine and it was very hard to get the old gasket off of the oilpan. I went through about 8 roloc grinding discs to get it all off. No more leaks now though!!! Do it right the 1st time.

so hndabond or rtv gasket sealant wouldnt work? or is it just better to replace it?

just replace it....
its gonna leak on you soon again

might as well replace it with an oem one and have it leak like 10 years later
rather than a month later with hondabond or something

they're $20-25 at the dealer, if you have the pan off, i'd just replace it
