Default warranty for oem cat converter

i recently bought an oem cat converter because i'm due for emissions very soon. i bought the oem one because i wanted to honda warranty, but after recieving my cat, i noticed it looked used. so i emailed the company (hondapartsdeals) and they said that i get a 12 months or 12000 mile warranty. i told them that i thought the warrenty for oem parts is 8 year 80000 miles, but the said that only the original part was covered for that amount of time/miles. is this true or should i return the cat and go to the a local dealer to purchase it? please help, i need to know by today

i got the cat for like 350...i just went to a local dealer and they told me that over the counter, the cat has a 1 year 12000 mile warranty, but if i buy it from them and get them to install it, THEN its 8 year 80 thousand.

if i go the dealer route, they charge 650 not including labor...is the extra 7 years worth it? my last cat crapped out on me at like 82 thousand miles...
