Ok, here's the deal. I just purchased a CRX for a pretty good price, OK a damn good price. It's primer gray currently, but was origionally red. This primer was not sprayed well and I need to do some little things regarding the fitment of the body kit. Do I need to sand this primer before I spray more coats on? I need a little guidance here. Also what should I do to primer the body kit. I have a cheap a$$ fake buddy club front and rear bumper with wings west side skirts and door caps. The front and rear are really flexy if you push them a bit. Should I use flex primer? Thanks a lot for the help!

Please someone offer some guidance...I'm confident that I can do this on my own but an encouraging word never hurt....
I really don't know that much about painting and stuff but I do know that the cars surface needs to be REALLY smoothe before you should paint. So yes, I'd sand it down. What you could do to stiffen the flimsy bodykit peices is to put some extra fiberglassing on the innerpart and that should strengthen them up quite a bit.

Thanks, I'm starting work on saturday...there's a great book on this I saw at borders (I picked it up at the library though
) called "How to Paint Your Automobile" or something like that. It's got great description and plenty of pictures showing the work being prformed.

Block sand it with like 240 grit to make sure its smooth and then re-spray it with whatever primer is recommended for the paint you will be using (ie. use PPG primer for PPG paint etc.)

I wanted to get rid or the front and rear fo the Wings West RS series but I'd rather save the cash for performance, and I was surprised how good the buddy club actually looked. It's not as cheesy as some of the other copies put there. I wish I could post pics, can someone help me with that?

I just re-read my 1st post and I wanted to make it clear that I bought the car with this kit already installed. I took it off tonight and will reinstall it the righ way on Monday, along with the paint prep.
