will a a y7/z6 mini pass smog with a chipped p28 ecu? i have an es oval, header, intake. I can get a stock header, intake and exhaust but will it pass if i get the parts? my car is untuned also.

 

nope ur car has to be bone stock.. unless u get sum sweet hook-ups...

 

Doesn't have to be bone stock, but parts need to be CARB, and since that swap is a frankenstein, it's not CARB. I have heard of people adjusting the timing to pass smog or whatever, but I don't know how that works. But from what I know (experience), a mini me will not pass.

 

that car will pass at 95% of smog shops. most guys can't tell the difference on cars like this. Don't trip. just make sure the timing is set to 16*, the car is warmed up and the check engine light is not on. If it fails scan the failure report and post it on this thread so I can see what they failed it for.

 

what timing is stock i thought it was 12 im just wondering why 16 myself, i got a y7/y8 that im going to try to smog too.

 

The motor itself should. The question is the ECU. Most of the time the chip add's gas and timing.... well too much and a fail is in your future.

We do not check the ecu. It is not a requirement. I would go back to stock or the stock settings.

Make sure you have a good cat on there also.

I also believe the spec for timing is 12 btdc. I would stay there for the first test.
