2000 AP1 dyno plots (AP2 header/test pipe/VAFC)
Sorry for the crappy photos, dyno is currently offline (I'm working to get it back on the network to provide better photos)
Only the VAFC was changed between pulls.
2000 AP1:
AP2 header
Invidia test pipe
VAFC
NOTE: NOT dynojet, Mustang MD-500 model was used.
Please notice the baseline before making comments about the absoulte numbers, everydyno reads differently.
cheers,
--------------------------------------

Same data from above, but in "deltas" format, note the midrange gains from lowering the x-over point and fuel changes. Over 10 hp and ft/lbs gained.

at first I thought that was Dougs piece o ****.... but then I saw that it was a 00' model....
He has the ap2 header, but i dont know if he has aquired the rest of those mods yet....

Jack can chime in, but iirc the primaries are larger on the ap2 b/c of the 2.2

I always had been told that the last 3 characters indicate a minor change, either supplier or cosmetic.
Can someone post some pics of the measurements of the primaries on the ap1 vs ap2.

it isnt the fact of peak numbers... i see a slight improment inteh midrange but with a TP and Vafc tuning there should have been more and the fact that its a 01 its pig rich from the factory so the gains should have been more....

the 5whp was probably from the test pipe and VAFC tuning, I don't believe this header theory..
The baseline was WITH the AP2 header, gains shown above are only from x-over movement and fuel correction.
P.S. AP2 header is good for aleast 8bhp peak over the AP1 unit.

i d k about that....some aftermarket headers dont even make that much more power. ..

From the dyno I own and have used for over 4 years...... Shrug, I guess you know more than I do.

You should back it up with dyno plots having the header as the only variable.
Good stuff.

well, maybe if you drove the car you would believe it. the pictured dyno plot is from my s2k and i definately believe this header theory. when the ap2 header was installed on the car by itself 2 weeks before the vafc tune there was noticable increase of power in the car. then after the car was tuned by jack, the car felt like it was evil. period.
when the stock ap1 and ap2 headers are sat side by side you can see the differences.

you can have fun blowing several hundreds on a header that makes less power on ur ap1 than my $100 ap2 header. lol
