i believe there was a thread on this awhile back on g2ic....

search for it over there, i think you needed to reverse the driver side to the pass or something like that (sounds goofy i know)

I hate when websites and businesses use outright lies to entice the consumer into buying their products.

I'd rather have my tires like the top diagram than the lower diagram. The car will handle better than it would with the tires straight up:

OP, I would just get your car aligned and not worry about getting a camber kit. Camber doesn't wear tires, toe does, and toe is completely adjustable from the factory.

How low are you planning on lowering your car? I have the tires on my DA tucking about a 1/4" in the fender with a 215/45-16r azenia. When I put the coilovers on the front was probably at about a -3.5 to -4 and the rear was at (cant even guess it was that bad). After I bought the camber kit for the front (which was the revo-technika) and the megan for teh rear(which I really liked because it is really beefy, takes a 1" wrench to adjust it) now the front is at -1.5 and the rear is at -2. No rubbing what so ever even or bumps that are really wicked at highway speeds or when turning the wheel completly both ways. I would recommend it if you are going really low. Not sure the exact height it dropped it but you get the idea with the tire size.

get an aligmnet, toe is probably causing your premature wear.

camber causes tires to wear uneven, but not any faster.

toe will acctually cause your tires to "drag" causing premature wear

I used to be lowered 3+" and still got 30K-35K out of a set of high-performance tires. Never had a camber kit on my car at all since I lowered the car 6 years ago.

amen.

camber kits FTL
getting an alignment FTW

screw the camber kit and spend less money on an alignment.

Personally I say both. I got a camber kit to eleminate a lot of my excess camber, but i also did an alignment. I re-built my car and had to drive it for work. I killed the front tires within a few thousand miles. I took in for an alignment, had the camber set to -1 on the front and fixed the toe. Drove the car at least 10,000 miles with no signs of unusual wear.

having negative camber only increases the handling when u are in the mist of a turn. when u r turning the camber will correct it self and u will ride straight on the tire during this time . that is why most hard core ckt racers will put a whole lot of neg camber b4 they race

If you would have gotten the alignment done in the first place after rebuilding the car, you still would have had even tire wear without the cost of a camber kit or the extra cost of adjusting the kit during the alignment.

Toe kills tires, not camber. Period.

I am actually looking into buying the skunk2 camber kit, but now im reading this and many people are saying its kinda usless.

I raised my car +2 inches to try and save some tread. It's working for now, till i get my motor done. But since lots of peeps are saying the camber kit is usless "kinda" why not invest in some cheap *** camber kit for like 50 bucks. That would still get the job done right? + an allignment. In summer i plan on dropping on brand new tires/rims 16in. So im not gonna bother on getting it alligned when i will need it again in like 1.5 months. What's everything think about the cheap camber kit + alliagment, instead of the expensive skunk2 camber kit.

then again. my tires didnt last me long. got the camber kit. and they are lasting longer then last time by far.

it was bull ****. all 4 of my tires were eaten from the inside.caster and toe were in the green. the only thing that was off was my camber.

and you can tell because the inside has less thread then the rest of the tire.

blah to many of these threads.

yeah, i didn't wanna make another thread about it, so wanted to bump this one. Some people say its worth it, others say no. I wanted to know if instead of buying entire cmaber kit with a UCA, and then banging the **** out of my fenders. If i just buy the cheap *** camber kits, so it allows you to use stock uca, and some minor adjustments. I don't wanna buy some expensive *** tires and then have them ripped up from tow/camber wear.

You know if the cheap camber kits from ebay etc, will suffice to at least not own my tires.
