Default Radiator temp?

aproximately how hot would you say the radiator gets on our little civics while "spiritly" driving? only reason im asking is im going to attempt to use jb weld on my cracked radiator and theres 2 different kinds at my local napa. the jb weld original or the jb weld "kwik"? the original stands up to 500 degrees F and the kwik handles up to 300 degress F.

You would be surprised as to what JB weld can do.

But for a radiator, I'd recommend getting a new one. I know some companies sell ones with lifetime warranty. Well worth the money at that point. If you really care about your car you will outsource at least a used good rad.

Didnt really want to buy a new one so jb welded mine goog so far for 2 years.
You got to clean that surface really clean, leave it dry. Sanding a little helps.

I used JB weld on mine ( the regular kind) with success. One of the fan mounting bolt areas on top of my radiator just came off, so I put it back on w/JB Weld, then after it dried, I reattached the fan and have had no problems for the last 20,000 miles. Just make sure it is dry before you refill the radiator.

i couldn't really say how hot but just use the original 500 deg i doubt it ever gets that hot prolly not over or even up to 300 but a little extra never hurt. althought i would solder it rather than using jb weld. if done right it will hold better

my radiator fan is activated by a temperature sensor that goes through the vanes of the radiator (its a long story.. dont ask), and the sensor is set to turn on at 160 degrees F. it very rarely turns on in the winter, but will turn on in the drive through in the summer.
