Car won't go into gear- need confirmation
I have a manual transmission and I can't put it into gear. I checked and the clutch cylinder is empty. I'm pretty sure that's my problem, but I don't really know much about hydraulic clutches, all my cars have been cable. Anyway if someone can confirm that's what needs to be done, that be great.
Also, when I bleed the clutch fluid, will I lose some of that slop, or do I still need to adjust the pedal?

you probably have a leak if all your fluid is gone... you can check your master cylinder, feel around the drivers side carpeting area, around the firewall, for signs of leakage. that'd be the first step.

adding fluid and bleeding the clutch will fix the immediate problem, but you probably have a leak somewhere.
Fluids cannot be compressed.

Check your slave cylinder, but it really is sounding like your master cylinder. Have fun changing it, it's a pain in the ***.

you have a hydrolic clutch system. hydrolic means fluid, master cylinder and brake cylinder control the clutch pedal and the brake pedal respectively.
