Default Civic LX master cylinder help

Being as this is my first post I would like to say hello to everyone first and foremost.
I have a 1998 civic LX, Canadian car with ABS. The local auto parts store is having difficulty getting me the proper master cylinder for this vehicle. Originally they ordered one without the sleeve that comes out of the back, which I assume is non abs. Next they ordered one for an EX. The question I have is my master cylinder is identical to the one they ordered, bolt pattern etc. except; the actual housing for the master cylinder is larger. My master cylinder says 7/8 and the one they ordered says 15/16 or something to that effect. Now not wanting them to get stuck with another part to sit on, are these two master cylinders interchangeable, or completely different. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

As long as the MC bolts up to the booster and the lines bolts up to the MC, you are fine. The 15/16" is of a larger bore than the 7/8", and all it will do is firm up your brake pedal.

Thanks for the response. So essentially this would be equivalent to a modest brake upgrade. I looked at a car at work a 99 civic si (canadian model) which i believe is an ex in the states or something. An SIR in canada is equivalent to the SI in the states i believe. Anyway that had the larger master cylinder in it with rear drums. So is it safe to say Honda put the larger master cylinder in higher up models just to increase braking ability? and if so I assume all other components are the same? Basically I just dont wanna get her all in and find out blammo it doesnt work.
