Default Crappy Ebay SS brake lines.

I bought a set of the ebay ss brake lines after a couple friends ran them and had no problems and were very happy with them. I get them on and go to bleed the brake system and find a damn hold in one of the lines. You cant see the hole if you look but as the pic shows you can see fluid spraying out of it. There one other small hole it come out of if you hold your finger tight over the main hole. Is it common for this to happen? Has anyone ever seen it before. The company is sending me a new set of lines so if anyone just needs one or two lines let me know.

I think the lesson here is not to try cutting costs when it comes to a safety item as important as the brake system.

Regardless of whether the seller is sending you a replacement, I wouldn't run those on my car.

If your replacement lines have a similar defect and they start to leak fluid while your driving, it could cause a fire and loss of your ability to brake. I would be unable to install those on my car after having that kind of issue. that could be something that is deadly....

"Good luck" is not something I'd want to associate with brake lines, and the horsepower output of a vehicle is irrelevant to the discussion. You've already witnessed a severe defect in one of these lines, that could have resulted in a catastrophic accident. If that's not enough of a reason to opt against installing and using them, I don't know what would be.

Absolutely- your brake lines hold your life in their little veins...

Aeroquip or earls ONLY!

Next time you think about cheaping out on brake lines, think about this:

PS: any true DOT approved brake line assembly is supposed to be pressure tested before use, and thats a DAMN good policy. Second, those guys above are lucky to be alive.

Theres no way his lines are DOT certified. And if the vendor is claiming they are then Id ask him to prove it. I bet they say for "off road use only", read "dont sue us when they leak and cause certain death".
