Default took CRX to the track

ok im not a noob to honda's but i am a noob to running the track.

i took my crx out to the track last night and didnt hit the numbers i was hoping for. according to most of my buddies i should have been hitting low 15's maybe even low 14's but sadly i hit 16.1
now i kno i had mad wheel hop. now here is my set-up
mugen chip PW0
basic LS/VTEC
LS transmission
ran on SI rims

my question is this where or what can i do to improve my times. or could it have just been the fact that it was my first time running at the track? thanks guys.

First get rid of the LS trans ... then get your wheels balanced!

What was your trap speed? i Just ran a 13.7 @ just under 98mph this past sunday in a FULL WEIGHT EK Coupe. Stock LS bottom, Stock GSR head/cams, header and a short ram. only a 1.92 60ft on the 22 inch slicks... with more seat time should easily have a 13.5 in it. this is with a GSR tranny BTW...

I think you could run faster than a 16 for sure. I ran my '06 4-door F-150 tonight at Bithlow and ran a best of 16.06 @ 86.18

Now my truck is modded but if I can do that I think with a engine swapped Civic you could beat that for sure.

There were a a number of Honda's out there running anywhere from low 18's to mid to high 14's.

Getting off the line is your biggest problem IMO. If you can hook you'll easily break 16's.
