Hey all,

I was just wondering if there is an EGR valve in a 90 Civic DX? I recently failed an emission test. HC, and CO was within the limit, but NO was 4 times the allowable limit. Anyone out there wish to share their experience in passing the Emission test? What did it take to get your car to eventially past the test?

as far as i am aware i dont remember seeing an EGR on there

 

It is possible but not probable that it has an EGR ..

Thank you both for your response. After taking a look at my engine bay and comparing it to the picture from 88DXCRX, my car do not have an EGR valve.

 

I believe that only the California emissions automatic DX has an EGR valve.

 

My California 1990 Honda civic Dx sedan does have an EGR valve. It's held down by two 12mm screws. They are tough to get off but doable. I just cleaned out mine because of a failed smog too.
