started putting my kit on this week. thought i would post up and try to get some input. build is as follows...

stock jdm motor 60000.

sc6169e
spoolin log
tial 38mm wastegate .5 bar
tial 50mm blowoff valve
treadstone intercooler... 28x8x3
myself fabbing piping
mishimoto civic rad
precision 780s
fasturbo vaccum block and oil line kit
blacktrax intake manifold spacer
p28 with s200b.
competition stage 3 clutch
competition 8lb. flywheel
3inch exhaust with vibrant muffler


looking for around 280-300.

so far so good, had to cut a lot of the power steering mount to get the wastegate to fit. turbo clears everything fine. intercooler pipes are mild steel 2.0 to intercooler, then 2.5 to 2.75 to throttle body. i cut the crossmember out to clear the downpipe, all exhaust piping is stainless and being welded with stainless weld wire mig. should be able to snake the 3inch throw there. any input good or bad is fine/appreciated. ill try to keep updating this, just trying to make it easier for the next guy by postin more info. thanks.

will be making downpipe and dumptube soon.. and the intercooler pipes will be painted and i will be wrapping as much as possible around the turbo.

Is there a reason you didn't spin the compressor so that the outlet would point down? It would look much cleaner that way. Other than that looks like you have been having lots of fun.

 

thought about that... looked like the motor mount would be in the way, and the rad.. im still thinkin about switchin it up, would be a lot shorter... hmmmmm

 

make sure your hood will still close

 

I have seen quite a few turned down. If the motor mount gets in the way just remove it. Who needs the front motor mount anyway? j/k

 

get stiffer motor mounts and you wont need the front mount. done

 

my hermsfab log mani placed my turbo in almost the same exact position, but the entire motor mount blocked the turbo outlet if it was clocked downwards.

can't wait to see her finished

 

looks nice, i so wanna get a turbo when i get staright with bills and buy my wife another car so she quits bugging me and then ill get a turbo.

isnt the rad. hose in the way for a filter?

 

got everything fabbed and mocked up except exhaust.. welded oil pan bung, repainted pan, ran oil return, made downpipe, dumptube, and started grinding and painting intercooler pipes..ill get my painter to paint them blue on monday.

heres some fresh pics from today, everything is painted/installed,gaskets are in... still need to do intake pipe, exhaust, intake manifold, and a lil bit here and there.. almost there!!!

 

Engine bay dirty as F@@@, front bumper ugly as S@@@. Good job tackling this job yourself and on the overall build.

 

You could make the intercooler install much more seemless and clean buy cutting out the front bumper support around the intercooler

Nice work though

 

the front bumper support is cut out, no **** its dirty, the whole car needs to be cleaned, its sitting in a body shop, its a stock bumper, i had to cut, cut, cut, cut to get my pipes to fit right, i think it looks strait so whatever...
