IACV Warrenty Issue?
Car is a 2002 Honda Odyssey under warranty. And the dealer is saying something about how they can't replace the Idle Air Control Valve which is broken, because it's under emissions control devices and something to do with the EPA. So we have to pay them $167 I believe
Can anyone provide advice if they are correct or not; or make sense of what exactally this is and if it applies to my situation like i'm thinking it does. Section II. F mentions the IACV

My sisters accord had the same problem last year i believe. warranty covered it. but it might be because we have an extended warranty? dont know details but i know it was covered under mfg warranty.
To my understanding, emission items are held under a different warranty. The warranty isn't part of any standard 3yr/36,000 mi. warranty or any extended warranty for that matter. Its a seperate warranty that COULD differ from each manufacturer, but it does expire in either time or miles. If anything, I would ask the dealership about the emissions warranty and ask them to show you a copy of how the emissions warranty works because if you ARE over, than yes, you do have to pay for it.
