On my way home from work, about three miles from home, my clutch pedal started feeling short and sticking. I was having a hell of a time getting in to first (powering through the rest), and of course I hit every red light, looking like an ******* each time I couldn't get going. My tires chirping and car jumping all over the place I managed to make it home. When I got pulled into my spot, after stopping, I put the clutch in as far as it would go before starting to stick...I can feel where this was happening...gave it a little gas and the car moved a little. So I ask, what the EFF is wrong with my piece of ****?

The clutch master cylinder is less than 2 years old fresh from the factory. See all other info in sig. HELP!

 

Is there still fluid in you master cylinder? What you described sounds like what happened to me once before. Turns out I had a faulty master cylinder, but that day, there was next to no more fluid in when that started happening.

 

Sorry...yeah...plenty of fluid.

The clutch is just under 2 years old.

Daily driving. I very rarely beat on it with 183,000 miles.

The first thing I did was check for leaks and didn't see any. I thought maybe I could try bleeding the system.

 

After I put my Xtreme PP and SS disc in my car, I bent the friggin pedal assembly. Pedal was down on the floor.

 

Could be a TO/Pilot bearing issue. Does it make a noise if you press the clutch in? Or does the noise stop if you depress the clutch?

 

No noise at all.

 

Is the clutch easier to disengage if you repeatedly pump the pedal? That could indicate a problem with the hydraulics (bleed the system, slave cylinder, etc).

 

I agree with everyone else. It doesn't always have to leak to have a bad slave cylinder. It sounds like it still has the ability to hold some pressure. Once it doesn't it will most likely start to leak. Bleeding it won't make a difference.

 

Shift fork. I just sold it as is for $800 and am now driving a 00 Protege with the puny 1.6. The 1.6 is only good for one thing and that's boost. Bye Honda.
