what was the thickness on that & whats your plasma cutter rated for. It looks to be doing quite a good job.
I'm suprized your not using a brace to slide your tip against (to keep a straight cut) .. ?

I did think of what you suggested, using a straight edge or piece of wood to keep the cut straight but the gun has a tapered edge and it wasn't working to well.. the side that we cut will be facing away from the bench/user so its not really critical. The metal is about 1/4" thick. had to get this cut up before the snow hits

QFT... coming from a guy who cut an inch off the ground once. haha obviously bigtom has done the same lol.
wear gloves, a welding helmet, and get your material about 6" off the ground next time.

Cutting the slab 72" x 27 " to fit ontop of this workbench. The slab was originally 4'x8' long lol.
