I read recently that only a handful of Companies make all the other Rim Companies wheels. For example, Makin Ind and Desmond mfg come to mind as some of those rim/wheel manufacturers. Does anyone know conclusively if this is the case? And if so what are all the diffrent manufacturers and what brands do they make?

 

I don't know how many there are, but I know there is a lot of branding that goes on. From what I hear, you're correct, especially in the lower price range. A lot of wheels come out of the same factory, then get a different center cap.

 

work, rays, enkei is prolly the most widely used.. they cast advan wheel for yokohama, gabs, etc
