Yep. Labeling every single connector will help, although you start to recognize them by wire color after a while if you don't.
It's not bad, although I think like the CRX it would probably be easier to drop from the bottom. Never dealt with one.

I pull engines on a weekly basis. Very easy. Eventually it becomes second nature.
I always pull mine from the top because I don't have a hoist. If I did I would do it from the bottom. Honda installs there engine by lifting them from the bottom up.

i lift the car as high as it can go on jack stands then lower the motor down with a floor jack. then pull it out. honda made it easy... also the connections can only go once place. it's like a jigsaw puzzle.

Connections only going in one place is blantantly false.
I can think of three connectors on the intake manifold that can all fit into each other's space, with at least another one that can be shoved in and not function properly. This is on a DPFI model of course, but regardless, there is some ability to confuse, plus it's just easier to label and get it all right the first go round.

how hard is it once the motor is out and has all the wiring still attached to it, and have the other motor side by side. then transfer everything over. maybe it's me and i've done this a few times, but it's not rocket sci.
yea we always leave the harness on the motor and swap it over out side of the car, its a lot easier, my friend and I drop motors weekly and its really simple once you've done it just take your time and keep track of all the bolts and stuff label them in baggies if its your first time...I PMed you if you want some help doing it I'm not to far from you...

This way is not bad at all. It's also good if you see a sensor that is cracked you can swap easy out in the open. It also lets you swap any parts off your current motor that may be better than what's on the donor such as alternator, valvecover, you name it.

Take your time and its a piece of cake. Everytime you do it after it becomes easier.
Start to finish (motor is hanging from hoist in the background) pulling out a stock SOHC from the rex. This includes customers coming in and bothering us

I'm supposed to be pulling a b18 out of an eg in about two weeks for a wiretuck and engine bay paint job.
I'll time it, it usually takes about two hours to do it with my brother and thats without trying to beat the clock haha.
OP: Get a copy of a helm's manual and you are set. Hell i actually have a hard copy of the honda manual for the wagon
. I've used it for all of my ef's haha.
