5th gen owner here with 158K and I wanted to know often you guys changed your fluids...

I was planning on doing it myself and I wanted to know if theres a specific brand I should buy...I know PS fluid has to be HONDA as well as brake fluid...

Any recommendations on brands to use for a complete flush of all fluids?

 

Here are my recommendations, since day 1 (aside from the oil change transition from regular dyno oil to synthetic):

Motor Oil: Mobil1 5W30 Extended Performanace (changed every 10K miles)
Transmission (5spd Manual): Honda OEM (changed every 30K miles)
Coolant: Honda OEM (changed every 30K miles) mixed with water, unless it's pre-mixed.
Power Steering: As you stated already
Brakes and clutch cylinders: Honda OEM (changed every 30K miles)
Gas: Use Shell V-Power (93 octane)

I've regularly let the dealership service the 30K package as scheduled by miles. The car has driven like a champ, as it approaches 116K miles.

I replace my fluids as follows:

Oil & Filter: Every 5,000 miles Mobil 1 5W30
PS Fluid: Every 50,000 miles (Honda OEM)
Brake Fluid: Every 24 months (Prestone Synthetic DOT 3)
Clutch fluid: Every 24 months (Prestone Syn DOT 3)
Coolant: Every 24 months or 30,000 miles (Prestone Antifreeze 50:50 with distilled water)
Transmission Oil: Every 30,000 miles (Honda OEM MT fluid)

 

1997 prelude base auto 160k. my girlfriends car which i drive and maintain.

Oil & Filter: Every 5,000 miles any conventional motor oil on sale 10w-30.
PS Fluid: 50k miles Honda OEM
Brake Fluid: 50k miles Castrol GtLma DOT 4
Coolant: 50k miles honda 50/50 and distilled water
Transmission Oil: 2 years Honda OEM AT fluid
Gasoline: Arco/BP 91 octane

 

I run M1 5w30 and filter every 3000 miles

trans fluid with Honda MTF every year, but the car sees the odd track day.

Prestone Coolant every two years.

Brake and clutch fluid, twice a year (track use) I'm trying cartel dot 3 race fluid.

Basically maintain your car to factory recommendations, or double them up if you drive it more aggressively.....
