sprak plug tube seal
how often should the spark plug tube seals be replaced, cause last year i changed mine and this past sunday i was checking my plugs and there was oil in two of the holes. I drove the car 10k miles and i don't think they should be leaking this soon. anyway i'm thinking of putting some sealant arount the seals too see if i get a better tight seal. Also is there lower seals besides the tube selas
You may have replaced your tube seals wrong. Mine started leaking again, and when I pulled the valve cover the undersides of my old seals were completely oily (i.e. not sealing). Make sure that you completely clean the mating surface on the head with some nail polish remover (acetone). If there's any oil anywhere on that surface when you put things back together, you're not making a seal with the valve cover.
huh, which ones are you talking about, the upper or lower? First you said something about the head which made me think you were talking about the lower ones then you said something about the valve cover which made me think you were talking about the upper ones.
not the valve cover, that seals perfect. it's the spark plug tube upper seals. i'll make sure i clean the surface and make sure there is no oil on the tube surface when i put things back together.[]<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Secret Chimp »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">You may have replaced your tube seals wrong.
