Default New Cams, New HG, Bad Idle

I have a first gen b16.

Threw in some type-r (itr) cams and replaced the headgasket.

I have my timing down pretty good. (ign + belt)

However the motor goes plut plut plut plut plut plut.

Sounds like a small block v8....

Any sugestions?

hate to tell you this but it does sound like a distributor problem, one way to check this is by getting a spark tester that you can check the spark strength, they are pretty cheap and easy to use, and if come to find out the spark is too weak for the time being you can drop the spark gap to improve your situation temporarily. But all in all this might be your problem.
