I have a 1990 Honda Accord w/ a sportsmode problem.
I go a few miles and the sports green light comes on and and it will rev up. I don't use the sport button so I don't know what's going on. When it reves up the rpms will shoot up but the actual mph will be low ...like over 3000 rpm but only 40 mph.
Then the car will shift back down and resume to a normal speed. Every time it begins with that stupid green sportsmode button! Please help.

The "S" light on the dash is like a check engine light for the transmission as well, so when it's lighting up, something is going wrong. If you get a repair manual you may be able to pull the code from the TCU and go from there.
