Hey All!

I'm hearing a slight almost faint tin like rattling sound from my honda engine bay when I either rev my car (With performance exhaust) or when I'm driving at high revs and changing gear. The sound is set off by the slight vibrations the exhaust makes. After the exhaust note comes down so does the rattling. I started experiencing this sound after my cat back exhaust was installed in my DC5 but I checked all the bolts and nuts and they all seem to be done up tight. It's comming from the front of the car (under the hood). Would anyone have a clue on what it is or might be??? Thanks everyone. I appreciate it. All suggestions are welcome.

 

check your heat sheild and see if it's loose.

 

It might be the ivtec cover...it may be loose..take it off and then rev the car...I think the noise should go away....I had a similar issue...

i had that same issue with the cover. i just took it off. That could be the rattle.

 

i think its some kind of heat sheild thats loose i had the same prob but it was this weird sheild under the car that cnnects to the sub frame

 

yeah the heat sheild above the cat.

 

aah yes, I know the one, that could be it, maybe it was disturbed when they installed my catback system, or maybe its slightly loose due to the exhaust notes' vibrations.
