Default Some D16a6 to y8 tech requested...

I've been searching all night... And I've still got a few questions. I have 89 Civic Si (d16a6) and I've had a 97 y8 cylinder head laying around. My Head gasket is toast, so since the head is pulled, I'd like to use the y8. I have the head,IM,TB,Fuel rail, pretty much the whole top end.

Which timing belt do I use? Does that also depend on the water pump used?
Do I need one short y8 head bolt next to the Vtec solenoid.

For short term, I if i run this on the stock pm6 ecu (diz & FI's), slightly retarded without vtec, will i face any potential reliability problems?

I swear I thought I found a good y8 write-up,...i'll keep looking though.

You'll need the y8 timing belt but I am pretty sure the water pump on the a6 will be fine as long it's a 19 tooth like the z6 and y8 has. The head bolts I am not 100% sure about but I think the y8s are what you need and your best bet with the ECU is to just spend the $75-$100 for a p28 and convert to OBD1, I never rec. running a motor w/ a completely different ECU and fuel map not intended for it, it's just to risky and ghetto if you ask me. if you can't afford to do it right then you can't afford it at all.

The IM will be the most trouble for you since you'll have to relocate you IAT sensor thats normally in your a6 IM to the intake arm where the obd2 Civic runs it and yu'll likely have to run some extra fuel line to reach the FPR since it's on the other side of the rail. There may be a few other things I am forgetting but that's it for the most part
