Some guys are heating it with a torch and bending it downward. The other option would be going to someone fab capable and actually cutting the "a" pipe, or secondary section of the mani if you prefer that language.

I just did a setup like this for a guy and it turned out pretty well. I ended up jig'ing it in order to build an H2B specific header.

Aluminum...ahhh...no.

Yeah, the H22 OEM headers have a steel (i.e. non cast) second section. You can cut it, and just use 16g exhaust tubing to mod it, then MIG or TIG it. You'll have to remove the heat shield, and do it at the bend by just removing some.

If you go the torch method, just heat it up red hot and put some torque on it...it'll bend.

No, not aluminum...aluminized. It's steel that has been treated with an aluminum-silicon alloy that gives the steel and anti corrosive characteristic. When welded the coating burns away. If you clean the pipes really well on a wire wheel it'll weld descent.

No...ain't gonna work without modding it. Locate the lower part, or just have a fabber fab the lower section altogether. The flange wouldn't be difficult to make, as it uses o-rings to seal, so it'd be a straight forward deal with a flex section, etc. If you were local to me I'd fab it right up for you no problem.

u said to modify the oem header by cutting at the bend right? what bend are u refering to? the curve as it goes down the oil pan or when it starts to bend up towards the steering rack?
