Default TIRES!

I need some new tires for my s2k.... My question is....I want so fat tires in the back... what are the widest tire I can put in the back and or fron without any problems. These are just everyday driving tires... I have 17" rims. I looked at some like 245 in the back but I have no idea what I can do... Thanks for the help

just a heads up... you may be retarded.

anyway, feds are whats up aparently...so do that. also, i remeber you posting in the OFFICAL clean s2k thread a while back, so i know you dont have stock wheels. please tell me that they are staggered, and go find out what size tires you are running, all i remeber is seeing those fuking wanli tires you had on the S, and it was enough to make me want to puke.

just a fyi, if you still have the stock wheels, which are 16's, you're going to be paying a LOT less per tire than you would 18's. so if you are just daily driving the hell out of the car, and your not on a balla tire budget....that right there is somthing to think about.

as for myself, I've driven with Potenza RE-01R's since april, and they still have PLEANTY of tread left, even though they have like a 140 treadwear rating lol.

its all good though, seeing as how I've put her away for the winter not trying to thread jack, but anyone have any insightful reminders on storing the S over the winter?

Stabil in the gas if you aren't going to drive it. I've never really winterized a car before.

back to the tires...

i don't know about anyone else, but for me, my BFG g-Force T/A KDW's have been great. I originally bought just the KD's and they wore a little faster than I would have liked. That and they were dry weather only.

I am going to look into these Federal tires though for the next set.

what size and offset are you rims?

so fat tires are not always the best bet, if your rim is not wide enough lets say a 7.5 inch and you throw on a 265 the tire will balloon out from the rim and it will give the car a floating feeling.

</TD></TR></TABLE>

17x7.5 front 215/45 +48
17x8 rear 245/40 +45

rolled the rear fenders... im lowered on swift sports... over huge bumps i still rub a tiny bit but nothing big... once the spring time hits im gonna set my offset to the UK settings maybe a lil more aggressive to fit better and better handling... something like a -1.2 front and -2.2 rear

I'm running Hankook Venus RS-2's and they stick like glue! Close to R-compound feel and treadwear has been decent so far.... there were cheap too, $110 for rears, $95 for fronts
205/55/16 Front and 245/45/16 Rear

I DD them. They are fine in wet weather too, just bad in snow or ice like most Ultra High performance tires. My other choice was the Kuhmo MX but they are only available in 225/50/16 and I want something as wide as stock S02's so I had to go with the Hankooks. (stock S02's are a special tire that is wider than any other 225/50 tire so you need a 245/45 to match the stock 225 width)
