Default Ipod

Hey guys,

Been a while since my last visit, sold my civic a couple of years ago. The reason I'm posting is actually for a buddy of mine. I'm looking at an I-Pod module for his 07' Accord. Looks like the module plugs into the existing external CD changer input on the back of the stereo.

Problem, it's a Christmas gift so I can't very well check the back of his stereo to see if it'll work. I've talked to the vendor of the product and there should be no problem as long as the stereo does indeed have an input for a changer. Can anyone help me out on that one? No navigation. I don't know his trim level but it is fully loaded, leather and all.

Much appreciated.

this ipod interface will work for the new Honda accord pa11-hon2y, any radio xm or not

if the xm is plug in to the factory radio ,the ipod will work full controls from the radio or steering wheel controls but there is no text ipod and xm work together

if there is no xm or the xm is unplug the ipod will display all the text information on the Honda accord radio display

The Accord forum is now split up, so you may want to check with the 7th / 8th generation forum ('03 on up):

Something else to consider... you are spending about $150 on a piece of wire to connect his iPod. Rather than doing that, see if he has any interest in an aftermarket radio. You could spend $75* on an aftermarket kit which would let him put in any 1-din aftermarket radio, and there are some really nice radios out there in the $150 to $200 range with iPod adapters built in (take a look at the Sony GT610Ui and the Alpine CDA-9883 from http://www.crutchfield.com, both are $170). I haven't used these head units personally but I'm sure that the control he would have over his iPod would be much greater than if he were to use your $150 adapter.

* The $75 kit is the one from http://www.crutchfield.com - they are having a half price sale on kits right now, the regular price is $150 - add it to your cart to see the price drop. So... for $245 your friend could have a new kit and a great aftermarket radio that also controls his iPod.
