B18A1 in CRX Radiator Question
Hello, I am new to this forumn, so I appreciate anything you can tell me. I have an Integra Radiator with a B18A1 engine inside of a CRX. Problem is that the person I purchased the CRX from didn't have the hood down all the way. The hood will not close with this radiator inside. What can I do to make it fit? Should I get stock radiator for CRX? What is recommended to cut if I used the Integra? Also, I read somewhere that ALL aftermarket Radiators are Dual core to accomodate Automatic Trans as well as Manual. My Rex is a Manual. Can I get an aftermarket (third Party OEM Replacement) and have proper cooling? Thanks in advance for all your help

HAHAHA!!!! That is TOO FUNNY! Thanks. Do you think the Stock OEM radiator is good enough with this Engine?

If you want a dual core radiator in your CRX, keep in mind that not all Integra radiators will work. From my experience, the stock Integra radiators with the plastic tanks WON'T work. Also, aftermarket Integra radiators that use the same plastic tanks will NOT work. The tanks are FAR too tall, and will interefere with the closing of the hood. But if we are talking about all-metal aftermarket radiators, then you are likely in luck. Many aftermarket radiator companies (like CSF) make a dual core radiator for 1988-1991 Civics. And you can certainly use this for your B16A swap (although you will have to deal with different sized hose nipples). BUT, in order to save money, these companies typically use the exact same radiator, but with bigger nipples, for the Integra. This radiator will fit PERFECTLY, and have the proper size hose nipples for your B-series motor. On the other hand, Civic/CRX fans will not bolt on. You will need to run Integra fan(s).
it is possible to use an Integra radiator, you'll just have to get a little creative to make it fit. Since you have a b18a, why not get the radiator that was meant for the engine.

Just get an all-metal aftermarket radiator for a 1990-1993 Integra. It drops right in. And the only thing that needs to be changed is the fan(s).
