i didn't know whether or not i should post this in the newbie section, but i thought i would get better feedback here. but i've always wondered why they made you put tape on your lights when you road race. could anyone tell me why? TIA

 

no one makes you, it's so rocks that go flying don't chip your lenses.

 

yep, i've had too many headlights chipped n busted 'cuz of that. I actually need a new driver's side lens now

Yea I do it to protect my CTR's....those precious little suckers...

 

It ain't just to protect your lights. It's on race cars so that when you crash into something or someone that sharp little bits of plastic or glass aren't lying all over the place.

It's much easier to pick up big broken race car parts than little broken race car parts.
