heater in 1990 honda crx
i just had the same problem, went through hell and pretty much the whole heating system to finally fix it 3 days worth of work, start by changing your thermostat and checking your heater core.theres 2 lines that run into the heatercore on the firewall, one goes to the head under the distributer and im not remembering where the other one goes....disconnect them from the opposite end of the heater core so you can have the lines where you wont get wet...take a garden hose and put water through one hose then the other make sure the water flows both ways,if not your heater core is clogged, its a pain in the *** to change but i just did it the other day.if its not your core then i will let you know some other things i did.
have you recently done a motor swap or did this just start happening? are you hearing any irregular whinning noise? Have you tried changing your thermostat? does the lower radiator hose stay cold? Does the car stay at normal operating temp or does it get hot?
I suggest this....Check the hoses and try running some water through the heater hoses to see if there is a clog or anything. If it free flows then change our your thermostat. If you still have no hot air and everything is fineincluding engine temps then it's time to replace your waterpump.

Sounds like you might have a bad thermostat then...If you're smelling collant check for leaks and if there isn't any it's very possible your headgasket could be going out on you.

you can check all those things previously said, but the problem i bet is that your air mixture cable is loose.
its under the heater core, behind the stereo center consol. stick your head in from the passenger footwell and look up under the heater core. youll see a white plastic lever and probably the cables that are loose. reach up to the front of the heater control and rotate the temp **** to see the cables. it should be obvious how to put it back together.
common problem.

thanks tyson, I just bought my first crx two days ago and my heater wouldnt work until I recieved your answer in a thread. The only thing that went wrong was right after I pulled that lever back and tried to start my car it wouldnt start. So I started then pulled the lever and it worked. Go figure cause I surely cant. thanks bro
