hey guys, i was wondering how would i be able to make my rev limit to 9,000 instead of the stock 8,000? is it just a simple tuning of the ecu or changing the ecu to an ap1?

 

Do you want to kill your engine? You think Honda just lowered the redline for the hell of it? When you stroke a motor you increase the distance the pistion has to move each cycle, increasing its speed. 9,000 RPMs is not feasible on AP2s, so don't do it. Or better yet, do it, and then go back to your EG so we can be rid of this lunacy.

 

u can rev it to 8,500 if u want, but u dont need to, if u wanna rev past 9k get a f20, theres no need to rev that high.

 

I was actually told the engine could rev to 9,200 rpm's but is not recommended to do it... its a safety factor just in case you hit the money shift (ie: shift from 3-2 or 4-3)... the AP2's retainers are beefier so that def helps as well...

but to answer your question there is no reason to raise the redline in an AP2... 8K is good enough

A few people have done it. But you do need to get it tuned. It's not advised to just swap the ecu out and go at it.

Either way it's useless. The piston speeds at 8000rpms on a f22 is similar to the piston speeds at 9000rpm on a f20.

it says the time on our stereos....and you can keep your tail lights

 

forgot to add, my friends ap2 has a ap1 ecu in it or something, i dont know how that works...iut might be turned or something...any how he can rev 9k but says he never does.

I like my bumper and taillights, I love my 9k and my 16's! Oh ands its 12:40 on my indash! U guys steal are rear bumpers too lol Ap1 ftw! its never going to end

 

Ewww, Ap2 taillights are ugly, they have all that ugly amber in them. Ap2 does have a better front end though, but that's about it.

better center console too, but that sums it up. the radio cover doesnt even match anything. besides i would rather have an ap1 console if i bought the carbon fiber cover thing, i like arbon fiber interior pieces but hate it on the outside of a car. its not so bad with the leather either.

I would never do a ap2 conversion on my ap1. I think the ap1 with the oem lip looks so much better then the ap2. Our headlights and tailights are deff simpler and way cleaner looking then the ap2 plus I dont like the L.E.D. can someone say eaby?? I dont know in general stock form with or without oem lips a ap1 looks cleaner then an ap2 but thats just my opinion.

ohhhh Dave you are misguided my friend... The AP2 front is sick wit it, the lights are more thought out, and the lip kills the AP1... simpler=crappier... ill let this one slide for now... haha

The AP2 is pretty responsive and fun.
