Default Who make a Similar to a GT3076R

I would like to know who out there makes a identical/Similar turbo compared to the mighty Garrett GT30R.
I know its probably not going to be 100% same specs...But as close as you can probably get it.....
Precision/Turbonetics

LMK Fellas.....

Try Precision's GT3076R, 3082R, etc.

Something completely different, but entirely the same eh?

Try the Borg Warner S256 or S258. They perform on the same level as the GT30r...

The Borg-Warner S256 has a very similar capability, in a journal bearing package. (This one has a polished compressor cover)

Precision is under agreement to use the Garrett cartridge. The only difference in many cases is the housings themselves, only.

They are about the same price, but you have to remember that the GT-R series requires water lines and cannot be rebuilt if you ever have problems. For those 2 reasons, my next snail will probably be an S256. I've seen their potential first hand...SLS tested one a few years back on Nick Thompson's white 98 GSR. That thing made a good amount of power and was in the mid 10s.

Not including lines/fitting kit. GT3076R about $1250 give or take (please guys, its not necessary to post up what you individually paid....I know someone will do that sooner or later.) With about $250 for stainless lines and fitting kit --total about $1450-$1500. The S256 unpolished is about $1100. Add about $50 for polishing. So figure $1150 as opposed to $1500. The S256 even has a 1 year warranty.

We sell the gt30r for 1150 shipped, and you have the option of running rubber coolant lines/fittings for under 50 dollars, or if you choose to the stainless steel coolant lines dont cost near 250 dollars anyway. lets be a little more realistic with this comparision.

more realistically its 1200-1250 compared to 1100-1150 from what ive seen for the borg warner. the s356 is very close in comparision to the gt3076r, but im still not sure what the op is looking for, a cheaper alternative, a different brand, something that can make similar power.....

Don't know what rubber lines you're using, but we are using 300psi rubber lines that are easily much more expensive to use the barb fittings. Like I said in my earlier post, those prices are average cost for a GT3076R. We sell the S256 for 1150 shipped. In some areas, you can sell garrett less, in some areas, we can be flexible with BW.

From our testing with Chris Rado on his Scion tC the S256 spooled 600rpm quicker and made more horse power at the same boost and didn't fall off on the top end. There was some info on here about it and I think even a dyno sheet you maight want to search it.

hmm the gt series turbos dont need super coolant lines. your off the shelf coolant hoses will work fine, its not like they are seeing increased pressure. We typically use parker hose for all of our builds its a little more money but my point was you can get a coolant line setup for less than 50 dollars that will work perfectly fine.

im not gonna argue about which turbo is better, as ive never seen any direct comparisions of the turbo myself. my point was that coolant lines arent as expensive as some people make them out to be.

Oh, please don't misinterpret me. It wasn't a comparison contest by any means. I sell and use both companies

That was against a GT3071R, I believe from the test. It was also on an SRT-4.

Shoot one over, I would gladly test it on my car. im running a gt3076r with a .82 a/r housing, i figure the s256 with a .85 a/r would be the best comparison, do you agree?

as far as fitment is concerned is it a direct replacement of a gt3076r? i have a t31 housing with a .82 a/r 4 bolt outlet and the standard .60 a/r ported shroud. if not im sure we can make it work just want a heads up.
