Default Question about this oil sandwich adapter?????

I asked the company and they have not replied by email yet so I figured I'd toss it out to you guys and see if someone has purchased this and could answer my question. I originally purchased this thinking it was and could be used with an oil cooler. But in looking at the pics and description on ebay it shows it just being used for oil pressure/temp senders. Does anyone know if I can just attach two oil lines to this and use it with an oil cooler that I already have or will I need a different adapter??? Thanks for any and all help.

So long as you use the correct fittings, sure. Just buy the fittings that fit the sandwich and run hoses to the cooler.

I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't a pressurized release or something. I have verything I need then. Anyone know what the next size hose that there is above 1/4 inch?? I bought some 1/8"npt-1/4" push on fittings but the hose isn't 1/4 inch I'm thinking maybe 5/16?????? I know the holes in the adapter are 1/8 but the fittings are a little too small when I push the oil lines onto them. Any ideas.......maybe 1/8 npt's-5/16th Does that sound right??????

Cheapest place to get fittings??????????????

If you want to talk fittings you can call me at 877-372-2348 x 19. Personally I would run something with a much larger ID for an oil cooler.

If you want to run an LS VTEC or oil pressure line off of that I can give you a 1/8npt to -4 adapter and then just use a universal -4 brake line which are cheap as hell also.

I have in stock an earl's adapter for about $30 that has 3/8 NPT, which will you give you the chance to change up your ideas (like running an earl's 100198 -8 male to 3/8 NPT with an 1/8NPT bung in it...

...to get you're oil pressure or ls vtec line) and that way you have a sufficient flow running to your cooler and make it worth your while. Not for nothing but you can pee a stream of oil harder then 1/4 line will flow, the key with good oil cooling is volume, you'll never see anything smaller then a -8 on 98% of cars for an oil cooler line.

I don't believe that can be used for a remote cooler!!

There should be a clear "IN" and "OUT" port and I just don't see it.

You should also be careful in that some sellers just post up a generic photo and it may not be the exact item sold.

ummmm i think you're confused.

thats an inline pressure gauge adapter. thats not made to be used as any kind of cooler.

What i was saying is use an earls sandwich adapter which has 3/8 NPT fittings in it. THEN you use that ear100198 pressure adapter so you can tee off the line for ls/vtec line or what have you. then continue plumbing the rest of the cooler in line no less then -8 in size and have a ball

I was saying that not only does that thing look like a POS, but the ID of the hose coming off of it is WAY too small to sustain a good cooling system.

The female ports are much to small to have enough oil pumped into your cooler. This is a good piece for style purposes, but when it comes to fuctionality for the oil cooler it will fail. GL, and as stated before go with Earl's!

Well put. I have a bunch of EAR517s in stock (which is what you need for d/b series) sandwich adapter for 22.27

3/8 NPT ports, clearly marked in an out, and backed by the biggest name in automotive performance (holley for those who aren't aware).

????????? WHAT ??????????

That makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever. The whole oil filtration system is pressurized. Ones an outlet and an inlet so I got no idea what you are trying to say.

both lines are pressurized from the same source, same pressure, no flow. I could explain it better if I cared, but I don't. Believe me or not, it won't work

Well I'm a jackass but that should work what your gonna need to do is cap one line off one line should run back into the oil pan I've used this type of deal before if you do it the way you show your gonna FAIL...

One line run to the cooler from the sandwich plate and the other line to the oil pan thats how i did it theres gonna be alot of feed back on the way your gonna do it...

Whatever works...
