i am currently looking into buying an s2000. i just wanted to know how the car has worked out for any current owners. and does the car get messed with at all by thieves. i live in a co-op and have to park it outside. with a good alarm, motion sensors and a clutch lock will i be okay. kind of nervous about getting one.

only thing really to worry about is the top and seat getting stolen.. get a hardtop and u got nothing to worry about...

 

thats what i was worried about the most. the seats really. i was trying to buy one that already had a hard top, since its kind of pricey.

 

with the hardtop you dont have to worry about the top getting slashed...
but you can change out the bolts for locks on the seat and they wont get jacked...... but if u have the soft top it will get damaged.. but thats what insurance is for right....

 

yeah... i guess you're right. guess im gonna need that hardtop. i've heard about the seats having locks instead of bolts, were can i find those?

 

how much are some of you s2000 drivers paying for insurance under your names and age. im 24 have only 1 minor accident 2 years ago. dont wanna pay more for insurance than the car.

My S2000 rocks my world.

 

Great car...but the insurance part of it stinks. High risk is what you're going to hear from every insurance provider, and especially your parking situation isn't going to help. good luck
