91 prelude engine swap?
hi i have a 91 2.05 prelude. yes i know its an odd modle but i would like to know what it the best engine i can put in the car without spending over 2,000 or major work. i dont mind getting new mounts or a custom wireing harnes. but i just want a more powerfull engine in it. or if there is a engine i can put in that is easer to find performance parts that would be kool.
I doubt your going to be able to do a motor swap in that car on a $2000 budget. The parts you need just to convert the car to accept another motor will cost almost that much.
check out http://www.preludepower.com for info on 3rd gen swaps.

You can't get quality and more power for cheap, so just forget about that part. Go to preludepower and check out the 3rd gen forum there. The best swap will be an H22 but there is work and $$$ involved.
also i heard that placeracing has a kit for a bigger engine (not the H22) but i dont know what engine it is. realy i just want to go half way on money, power, and time. i have two weeks to change the engine. and if i cant find a bigger engine swap without doing some major modification ill just put in a low miles used engine.
You wouldn't gain any power from doing that swap but the aftermarket for f22's is better. If you did the work yourself, you might be able do it with your budget. Then later on if you wanted to do more, you could get an h22 and it would bolt right in with a few minimal changes.

do you know if you realy have to get custom shafts, mounts, wireingharnes, ecu, and get the trans with the engine. and can a F22 trans realy fit on a H22. and how about the JDM F22. i got full exuast, cold air intake, performance timeing gears, and a performance camshaft for my USDM F22. will those fit on a JDM F22?

Probably because nobody swaps smaller engines into Preludes with 2 liter engines...
Also, you have a 2.0 S, not 2.05.

lol, I thought he meant the 2056cc b21 si motor which would be about 2.05 liters. It could go either way though I guess.

Ok let me clarify things for you since you are not listening and you are not getting clear answers.
The only supported engine swap is the H22 period. You need to order the mounts from me in order to do this.
Here is my site:

Now, the f22 has the same engine mounts points as the H22, but no one has done this swap as it is not worth the money, meaning -
** You will pay the same amount of money to make the f22 work in your 3rd gen Prelude. **
There is no other B series or Z series or K series engines that will fits into this chassis.
Only the H22 or H23 or f22 Accord and Prelude motor and manual tranny will work with the swap kit.
And PlaceRacing no longer exists so you will not be able to purchase those mounts, and you would not want to either since the mounts that I have made are way superior in design and engine alignment.
AZ Race was the company I sourced to produce this kit for the 3rd gen Preludes, period. And before anyone else asks, Hasport, Innovative, and whatever other companies out there that produce mounts, do not make anything for the 3rd gen.
If you have any question regarding this kit, and anything else related to aftermarket support for the 3rd gen, then please just ask me.
