i bought a HID kit and was in the process of installing them saturday when i ran into a problem. This is with my 95 EX coupe. The lights were not were H1 bulbs! I bought a 9006 kit thinking that just the regular accord bulbs were installed. I also notice that the wires were all spliced indicating that the previous owner had something aftermarket installed. But i still dont get why they would have chose H1 bulbs instead of keeping the 9006's. I guess i should note that the headlight assemblies are black and not the stock chrome color so they could be aftermarket as well.

Has anyone here installed HID's on a CD5 and have they ran into any problems installing?

 

Sounds like they have aftermarket knock off JDM lights in there. They take H4/H1 bulbs

I'm curious as to what exactly you're replacing.

Stock accord headlights take 9005/9006

JDM headlights take h4/h1

DEPO headlights take h4/h1

What headlights do you have and what are you trying to replace?

H1 would be a high beam.

Are you trying to have HID high beams?

 

i'm replacing the low beams on my 95 EX.. as it turns out.. they are H4 bulbs because i supposedly have JDM headlights. h1 was a typo. I really dont know as i havent looked too far into it.. the housing looks the same as stock just black in color on the inside. Now i must get rid of the 9006's and get h4 bulbs for my HID kit

 

Whether you have DEPO or if you have the JDM Stanley it'd be H4 for the lowbeams
