Default My NHRA street stock build!

Ok here it goes I am usually a nitrous guy and blew my old nos setup and have now been buildin an ALL MOTOR setup to run in the nhra street stock class. At first I was goin to try to do it on a 81.5mm gsr block but just by chance I stumbled upon my new 85.5mm gsr block. Now I have to make weight for the class I think its 2400lbs. The car its goin in is a 91 Si hatchback. But here's my setup.

BLOCK
85.5MM AEBS T-SLEEVED GSR
CP custom pistons cr 12.8.1
Carrillo rods
Stock crank micropolished
Z10 girdle

HEAD
OBD0 B16 Head unported
Buddyclub springs
Supertech ti retainers
Supertech flat top valves
Supertech guides
Skunk2 pro series manifold
Omni 68mm tb
Buddyclub spec 4 cams
Buddyclub cam gears
RMF Narrow header
FUEL
255 fuel pump
Aero fpr
GE rail
Precision 310 injectors

TRANS
98 GSR case
00 b16 gears
Itr lsd
Itr 4.7 fd
Comp. Clutch stg 5 clutch kit
CC 8lb flywheel

ECU
Apex POWER FC standalone
Aem wideband

Now knowin what consist of my setup I have found that my BC Spec 4's are goin to be to small of a cam for my goal. So I have decided to go with a much larger cam but am still torn between the SKUNK2 PRO 2, PRO 3, or TODA C cams. Now I was leaning more towards the pro3 cams but was told that it would be over camming my engine since I don't have the head ported. And TODA C cam to miond but don't know anyone around me that has had these and what kinda power they make. But please any advise would b greatly appreciated.

Well you have enough compression to use both the pro 2 or 3s imo. Pro3s love any amount of CR you can throw at them from what i have seen.

The head porting will obviously be a limiting factor but i dont see why you cant run either one and then just get the head ported later if you choose to.

Oh and not sure if you have read anything in the Drag forum but as of now there is no NHRA street stock class anymore, but since your on the east coast i look forward to seeing you out in any All motor class we get !!

If this is a race motor, why not go with a much compression and possible. Also, why is the head not ported. This will definitely limit hp.

As far as compression I should have more then enough I estiamte a lil over 13.1 when all together. And the head not ported is because I wanna see how much power I make ona stock port.

Not bench racing etc., but I guess between 220 and 230 whp. Your head is going to be the limiting factor.

Also 310's will not be enough. You will need 440s.

As far as whp I know for a fact ill make over 220 cuz my bot got the same setup makin 228whp wit pro3's. I know it will make power with a non ported head its just a matter of how much I can squeeze outta it.

And I was considering 440 but I really don't need that much.

I'm from north jerz. Back to the build I got a good price on some new pro3's. I think I'm gonna just go with that cam setup, cuz I know eventually I will port the head.

pro 3's would be good for that build as long as you port the head. if you dont port the head ur gonna suffer from a decent amount of power loss all over the rpm band.

just have headgames port your head. there in nj too. i wouldnt run pro3's on an unported head though especially if its for use on the track. pro3's need to breathe and on a stock unported head there not going to be able too.

get a port and port match the intake mani to the head and the throttle body to the intake manifold. ull be set. that thing will love the high rpms if ported.

Yea I was thinkin about goin with dave from headgames but kinda leaning towards portflow, but ill have to look into a lil. As for the manifold and tb those are already portmatched. Just gotta do the head up gotta save some cash cuz its that time of year. But thanx BUMP

yea but make sure your port match the intake mani to the ports on the head otherwise theres gonna be some serious unwanted turbulance with air flow.

dave does good work. his name on here is head you should pm him just to get a price and find out alil more about what hes gonna do to the head.

*UPDATE*

Ok guys I have just purchased some Pro3 cams. I have also decided to go with tom at portflow to do the porting to the head. And I figured **** it and just go all out and build it to the max. As far as the BC4 cams I'm gonna slap those in a NOS gsr motor I'm building I know they'll love the juice. Will post pics of parts later!!
