Yep!

Although the h22 trans is geared much better for the h22 motor.. for example, shifting from 1st to 2nd, unless you put her ALL the way to the rev limiter, you will fall out of vtec when you hit 2nd gear. If your tranny is good and you don't feel like spending the $$ for the h22, i wouldn't worry about it..

As for the Wiring harness, some h23 ludes came pre-wired for vtec (my 93 Si did), some did not. The only wires that are different are the coolant temp sensor, vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch.

um... you only quoted part of my sentence, did you read the whole thing? and yes the coolant temp sensors are in different places. but it definately isn't a problem when doing the swap

No they're not, the coolant temp sensor is in the exact same place on the h22 head as it is on the h23 head.

I think you're confusing the coolant temp sensor with the fan switches. The jdm h22 uses only the one rear fan switch while usdm engines (h23 and h22 both) use both the front and back ones.

ahh.... gotcha... thanks for clarifying. i guess i just considered them all all coolant temp sensors, since i didn't know exactly which one was the fan.

Its all good mang, I still don't get why they didn't use the second one in jdm land though.
