Was curious about all the honda tech that got there master ase certification. How much raise did u ask from ur manager or did ur manager told you how much raise ur gonna get

 

Skill level should come first. ASE is just writen test & theroy. I have worked with many ase mater techs who couldn't even diagnose a bad ground on a starter. I myself do not work on hondas, but I make almost top pay & do not have any ase's. The reason is I am lazy when it comes to tests & the fact that I do side work 7 days a week. I am not saying ase's are bad, you should get them as soon as possible, but you can't base your pay strickly on them.

 

just got my results 12/5 let my manager know i passed all 8 and got a great big "well good for you" nothing more

 

alot of dealership owners will only hire experienced techs why some put alot of pressure on ase cert and or honda tests/school.

most honda techs at least here are making 40 thru 60k.

there is always 1 or 2 guys that make 20-30k if lucky just becasue they are on the bottom of the totem lol.

The dealer I work for gives us an extra 50 cents and hour to have a1 thru a8, and L1.

 

one of the techs at my dealership has all 8 ase and he is only makin 16hr flatrate...ase doesnt mean anything paywise
