Default Were the OEM brake caliper red on 2001?

I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

I'm looking at buying a 2001 S2000. It caught my eyes the red calipers. When I asked the owner he replied that the brakes calipers on that year came painted red.

So the question is, did the OEM brake caliper were painted red on the 2001s or any other year?

Thanks

No he's bullshitting you. It was probably painted and if he's lying to you about that, who knows what else he's lying about.

Just because the current owner is a moron doesn't mean you should pass on the car. I love to buy cars from people that don't anything. Most of the time they take the car to the dealer for all the work. Ask the guy for service records.

Or maybe tell him that they recalled all the red calibers from that year because they had lead paint.

Well the guy doesn't look like he knows too much about cars in general. The car has been for sale for over a month now, he is asking almost $1K over the blue book value. According to him he spent $1k for the new top.

I'm waiting to get a Carfax because the guy had the car for only 2 yrs. Plus I don't know too much about S2000s in general. I've been doing my homework and reading about the specs and different thing that might go wrong.

I looked at the car and rode it. It runs and looks good. Other than it might need a clutch soon, really firm suspension and a rattle on decelaration. Otherwise the car looks like it has not been modified. Only upgrade is a new top with glass window. It might need alignment.

Thanks
