Question About R Theft
I know alot of ITR's get stolen in the US, Anyone know if its as bad in Canada(Vancouver Area)? I wanna get a type R but a buddy who's a big fan/wanted to get one, but isn't dude to theft paranoia said they get jacked here too, but I see a guy who doesn't even keep his itr garaged, and its always there, or driving.
Just move to New Zealand. ITR's are relatively cheap ($9000 up) and I daily drive mine, dont garage it etc etc.
Never been touched. Although it has a good alarm and I am careful where I park

I personally think that if worries about theft are keeping you from getting an R, then you shouldn't have one.
I never worried about the theft issue. I don't worry about it. I've had my car for a while now, and provided you use common sense, there's no real reason for it to get stolen.
If you live in a place where the R will be parked on the street. Don't get one.
If you live in a place where the R will be sitting in a apartment parking lot. Don't get one.
If you are worried about getting jacked every time you step out of your R, you shouldn't own one.
Afterall, in the end, it's just a caR... Yes, prized and rare, but truly just a car.

i'd agree with this as japanese people are just so honest. it's in their culture and blood. however, my sister in law said she had two bicycles stolen from her... while she lived in the "rural" part of town outside of tokyo!

The point he was making is that it is culturally unacceptable to steal in Japan. Here we make movies about thieves and murderers, and glorify/emulate them. It's no wonder we are an empire in decline.

Hondas in general are not that popular in Japan, including the ITR. Toyota has about a 40% market share overall, with Nissan a strong second.

Japan makes some of the most violent video games and yet our homocide rate dwarfs theirs, and they are completely obsessed with American culture and watch all those violent movies we make. What you said is really just an oversimplification that has no proof or backing whatsoever, and in my opinion, no correlation. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Back to the thread after a short work interlude…
This was most certainly an oversimplification; there are a number of reasons why we have rampant theft, and stratospheric homicide rates here in the U.S. Some of those reasons would be a pervasive lack of self discipline, a need for instant gratification, a heterogeneous population versus homogeneous population, etc. Do you have any other thoughts on this topic?
Edit: Homocide? Now <U>that</U> is unrelated.

That's not a question of being homeless or not, that's a question of everyone who work hard and save enough money can buy an ITR or at least a good sporty car, as long as it's not a ferrari... Unfortunately there always are some lazy people who prefer making easy money instead of working hard...
And if u're hinting the french government by saying "has unlimited money handed to him by the goverment to pimp out his honda/acura all he wants?" let me reassure you: unemployed people don't have R's in France
