top speed
The top speed of any road in the United States according to National law is 75 mph. Therefore, the top speed is probably around 80 safely.
I'd look for an open event or perhaps a very long straightaway on a track to explore the top potential of the car without risking other people

Never been to Montana apparently. And 80 is just about as fast as you want to push it.

Montana DOES have posted speed limits now (75 mph), with a clause for conditions. Whether or not police enforce that is a different story. Some counties in Texas apparently have speed limits of 80's, but I've been to Montana and Texas, so the distance needing to be covered makes speeds like that understandable.
Anyways, who wants to test out the top end of their car and end up having to "squeal like a pig" at the hands of a small town sheriff?

I do not want to be responcible for anyone else actually trying this because it is very dangerous, but I have put my track only 1987 crx si on the hoist at work, put the car in fifth gear and blasted out to 7000 rpm in a matter of seconds. (I also had taken off the wheels to control movement as much as possible...) If you want to know the governed speed, this is a sure yet dangerous way to find out...
I guess ima A**HOLE but i took it too 156? I looked down for a split second. I was scurd. I wana say 154 tho for some reason. It probably goes higher than that, but good luck finding a road for that.LOL
