I need pics of an AEM cai made for an ITR installed on a 92-95 civic?

 

That's weird because my friend (hot_ef) ordered one for a Type R and he had to do some cutting to make it fit properly.

 

I have one but no pics... It fits fine

 

Does it bolt in some how? Or does it just hang there?

 

Am i missing something. I had to cut my iTR CAI to fit on my ITR power'd hatch. Do you guys have a B18/B16.

It doesn't matter to me because i will be getting a Comptech Icebox (Using the ITR short ram and a B16 ICE Box).

heres a pic of the aem itr cai installed on my old 93 si hatch. the motor is a b18c1 block with a 99 si head. anyhow, like eveyone said it fits fine. actually mine rubbed a tad bit on the coolant res. tank.

When i asked this same question about a GSR AEM in a hatch everyone said it would fit fine with no problem. Then i had to end up cutting the bracket off and forcing it in there and ****. Arent the 2 basically the same besides the bend for the GSR IM and the Type R being a little bigger. I cant even put my resevoir tank back on the bracket it goes on. So why would the type R one fit so good?

 

i have no idea why you would have to take the backet off. my friend also had the same setup (high comp poormans itr, b18ci1 block, b16 head) and he ended up using his aem gsr cai and it also fit fine. my itr intake fit perfectly except a little rubbing on the coolant reservoir tank but thats it. oh, and the itr one is alot bigger 3inch diameter and a huge filter. if you look at the the 2nd pic, you can see that it fits fine.

 

yeah...mine wasn't even close to fitting. i don't get it....it fits on other people's cars!? and i know it was a true Type R because i ordered it from a Type R dude on H-T i cut it up a few times and finally got it to fit....bleh. oh well.

 

so if i had a skunk2 mani on a GSR in an EG hatch, i should just but the aem ITR cold air intake?

yes. with the skank2 manifold definately get the itr cai.

 

Why not just get the one made for your model 92-95 ?????

if you have AC i heard you may have to cut the intake and shorten or lengthen it a bit i dont have ac and mine fit just fine, it does rub the radatior resivour but not that badly i dont have a bypass either i just got it and stuck it on still a 1 piece

 

hey maxboost is that your motor setup? im running the same wheel HP but my best time is a 14.6 what car are you running that in and what elevation is the track you run at?

 

im guessin ur runnin at firebird. knock off .4 tenths for sea level difference. plus boise hot dry air doesnt help either.

 

where is a good track to run in the west kinda in the idaho area?i was thinking washington or oregon?

 

id say pacific raceway (old SIR) in seattle, but the closest place to u would b woodburn around portland area. go there for the aug NHRA event. the big dogs of the import drags will b there.

 

im not to worried about the drive which track will i get better numbers from

 

both r low elevation and have pretty low temps even in the summer. id prolly hit up woodburn, i think it rains more in kent (SIR).

 

Hey reds137, how did you get your intake that color? Spray paint, powdercoat, etc? It looks hot.

 

thanks. i had the jdm 4-1 header and the aem ITR intake ceramic coated in gunmetal. i wanted to be different and not go for the jdm heat shields cause they cost alot and they dont look that good in my opinion, so i got it coated and then i also had the intake coated to match.

That's wild....I had no idea that the AEM didn't go down the same hole as the stock intake......my CAI does (Iceman for a D16 SOHC fits on a B16 DOHC). I wonder if you guys get any extra heating due to the proximity of the (metal) intake pipe near the radiator and fan........
