supposed to change it every 15k along with your air filter....i assume you went past the interval

1. Open Hood
2. It is located under the cowling on the passenger side.
3. Remove clips from cowling be careful not break clips or tear rubber insulater.
4. Remove cowling.
5. Remove Air Filter assembly.
6. Remove old filter from assembly.
7. Install new filter in assembly.
8. Install assembly back in place.
9. Replace cowling.
10. Replace cowling clips carefully.
11. Close hood.

'02 w/ 55k. It was parked outside for a good part of its life, which im thinking helped contribute to the state of disaster it was in. I dont know if it was the original filter as I got the car with 22k on it back in '05. The moral of the story is to change it per the recommended schedule, cause thats what you're breathing in otherwise

that side will always look like crap. a vacumn and a couple shakes on the ground works good too for those wanting to skimp out on the $15 for a new filter.
