LOL JorZED. IMHO... You have to have your suspension set up just right to make them WORK and function correctly, and LOOK right. If you just throw them on and roll...

Well...there is more to it than that. The reason why Realtime chose 17" rims was because of tire choices, especially when the series dictated specific street tires for a few years.
They ran the 225/45/17 because there were no other 225 options in anything smaller. They also ran quite a short gearset to compensate because a 225/45/17 is a 25" tall tire.
But there are enough tire choices now that 17" wheels can be ok on a DC2 if you're concerned about performance.
